- The secondary air injection pipe is an integral part of the vehicle's emissions control system, designed to reduce emissions by routing fresh air to the exhaust system to help eliminate unburned hydrocarbons at startup and at operating temperature. Also known the AIR pipe, this secondary air injection pipe is designed to replace an original pipe that has corroded or been damaged during removal for routine service on specified vehicles. Critical to keeping P0410 and P0411 trouble codes at bay and ensuring quiet exhaust operation, this smog pump pipe is designed to help ensure proper emissions system function and help prevent future diagnostic trouble codes from being set.
